Foundation for Financial Inclusion Holds Forum for the Informal Sector

The Foundation For Financial Inclusion (FFI) has organized a Business Administration Programme for the informal sector.

The theme for the meeting, attended by hair dressers, dress makers and market women, was 'The Informal sector?Unlocking Africa's Hidden Growth Reserve' while topics discussed included entrepreneurship, customer service, sustenance and the growth of businesses, financial leadership and motivation.

Participants were schooled on savings, cutting down cost, issuing of receipts and proper accounting practices.

Also present were Micro-finance institutions such as the Christian Community Micro-finance Limited, Data Bank MFund, Data Bank BFund and Tigo Cash to educate participants on investment instruments, insurance schemes and cash transfer systems.

In an interview with the media, Mr Michael Adjei-Laryea, Programmes Co-ordinator of FFI, said the meeting, the third in a series, aimed to bridge the gap between the formal and informal sector in financial literacy.
