YORK -- York County real estate tax bills and the metal tags issued annually for household pets are specially printed.
But the $23,000 cost, listed in Treasurer's portion of the fiscal year 2015 budget, pales in comparison to the expected $66.3 million in property taxes and the $45,000 from dog licenses listed in the county's general fund.
It expects to issue 9,200 dog tag this year at $5 a pop.
The county requires that dogs four months and older be vaccinated against rabies and licensed. Tags are not be issued until a current rabies certificate is received.
