Kenya : KENYA ORIENT INSURANCE partners with mobile phone makers for insurance covers

August 9, 2014

KENYA Orient Insurance said it would associate with mobile phone makers for tailor-made insurance covers. This was after it finalised a contract with Microsoft Mobile Devices that concluded purchase of Nokia in April.

The two companies declared in Nairobi that the collaboration will allow users of Lumia smart phones to cover them against accidental damage which is usually not provided for under warranty.

Kenya Orient will charge a maximum annual premium of 3.75 per cent of the prevailing value of the Lumia phones that are not more than two years old from purchasing date.

The policy holder can only make a maximum of two claims per insured device.
