Aug. 09--More than 650 people attended a fundraising concert by Pablo Cruise for the Sutter Performing Arts Association on Thursday at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club.

The reunited '70s band headlined the three-band event with Los Angeles-based End of Ever, featuring local vocalist Dahni Piro, and Grass Valley folk group Billy Bensing and Kellie Garmire.

Pablo Cruise released eight studio albums with four singles reaching the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group split up in 1986 and reunited in 2004.

"This concert was successful in that it was a great event for our members to have another reason to enjoy their club," said Peach Tree General Manager Nate Pomeroy.

Proceeds from the fundraiser, which are still being tallied, will go toward the Sutter Performing Arts Association.

"SPAA is important for this community," Pomeroy said. SPAA is a nonprofit working to resurrect the historic Sutter Theater on Plumas Street in Yuba City.
