Aug. 09--The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra's Concert on the Lawn will go on from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine, said Gwyn Payne, symphony director of finances.

The annual event is scheduled for the front lawn at Kentucky Wesleyan College, 3000 Frederica St., but anticipated rain may force the event indoors at the school's Health and Recreation Center on the west side of campus off Scherm Road.

"We'll use a number of means to let people know if it has to be moved -- the symphony's Facebook page, our website and voice mail, and signs around campus," Payne said. "If we move it indoors, it'll be a little more cramped, but people can bring their lawn chairs, but the bleachers will also be pulled out to use."

The symphony's website is www.theoso.com. The symphony's phone number is 270-684-0661.

The Facebook page is "Owensboro Symphony Orchestra."

The event is free and will be "The Great Gatsby" themed.
