August 8, 2014

South Korea s sovereign wealth fund, The National Pension Service (NPS), is to invest US$386 million into a fund managed by Hamilton Lane, a US-based private equity firm.

In April 2014, the US house closed its Private Equity Fund VIII, a fund of funds vehicle with $426.8 million AUM, exceeding its target size of $400 million.

The NPS in the month of June appointed a US-based adviser for real estate investment in Asia, aiming at broadening its exposure in a space expected which would likely result in generating higher returns.

In 2014, the NPS which manages 436 trillion won, has been increasing its allocation to overseas equities to nearly 10.5%, but has maintained its portion of domestic equities at 20%.
