Rep. Miller Introduces Bill to Specify Course Offered By Lenders Under SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act

WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Rep. Gary G. Miller, R-Calif., has introduced legislation (H.R. 5310) to "amend the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 to specify that courses offered by lenders for their own employees may not satisfy the pre-licensing education or continuing education requirement."

The bill was introduced on July 31 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, D-N.Y.

The legislation was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
