AMLIN Numis has upgraded insurers Amlin to "buy" from "hold", forecasting full-year premium results to lead the sector, positioning Amlin to outperform during a difficult period. A new target price of 525p has been issued, up from 445p.

DEUTSCHE TELEKOM S&P Capital has maintained its "hold" rating for Deutsche Telekom after the release of solid second quarter results that largely conformed to guidance. Sales rose 0.6 per cent, with earnings eight per cent up on the first quarter at -0.3 per cent. The target price has been maintained at 13.

NORTHERN PETROLEUM Westhouse Securities has maintained its "buy" rating for Northern Petroleum following an update on its Virgo redevelopment project. Westhouse supports its view by pointing to above-estimate cash reserves and the potential cash-flow improvement which Canadian operations may deliver.
