Investigators from Annamalai University Release New Data on Cancer Therapy (Synthesis of silver nanoparticles from Melia dubia leaf extract and their in vitro anticancer activity)

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Biotech Week -- A new study on Oncology is now available. According to news reporting originating from Tamil Nadu, India, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Silver nanoparticles have a significant role in the pharmaceutical science. Especially, silver nanoparticles synthesized by the plant extracts lead a significant role in biological activities such as antimicrobial, antioxidant and anticancer."

Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Annamalai University, "Keeping this in mind, the present work investigation has been taken up with the synthesized silver nanoparticles using the plant extract of Melia dubia and it characterizes by using UV-visible, XRD and SEM-EDS. The effect of the silver nanoparticles on human breast cancer (KB) cell line has been tested."

According to the news editors, the research concluded: "Silver nanoparticles showed remarkable cytotoxicity activity against KB cell line with evidence of high therapeutic index value are the results are discussed."
