Aug. 06--MGE Energy, parent company of Madison Gas & Electric, reported net income of $14.1 million, or 41 cents a share, on revenue of $128.8 million for the second quarter that ended June 30, up from $13.9 million in earnings, or 40 cents a share, on $128.3 million in revenue for the same period last year.
Share amounts reflect the three-for-two stock split that was distributed on Feb. 7.
For the first six months, the Madison utility holding company reported net income of $41.8 million, or $1.21 a share, on revenues of $339.0 million, up from $36.5 million in profits,or $1.05 a share, on revenues of $295.5 million for the first half of 2013.
