Velvet Slipper Divine to Host Houston Fashion Designer Jonathan Blake for Private Trunk Shows and Receptions in Aspen Aug. 14 through Aug. 16, Lucky Day Animal Rescue of Colorado Designated as Charity Beneficiary

August 5, 2014

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Fashion designer Jonathan Blake is continuing to expand his reach beyond his Houston home base through a series of special events in Aspen hosted by Vivian Wise and Velvet Slipper Divine later this month. Jonathan Blake will donate a percentage of sales in Aspen to benefit Lucky Day Animal Rescue of Colorado. Donations to Lucky Day Animal Rescue of Colorado go directly to saving the animals.

Wise, Velvet Slipper Divine founder and a client of Jonathan Blake, will host a private reception and fashion presentation of Jonathan Blake’s Spring/Summer 2014 and Fall/Winter 2014 collections at her Aspen home in Starwood on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. About 100 special guests from Aspen, Houston, New York and Los Angeles are expected to attend.

On Saturday, Aug. 16, Wise will host a Jonathan Blake trunk show at Bloomingbird’s in Aspen from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is open to the public. Bloomingbird’s is located at 464 E. Hopkins Avenue. Patty Patterson is the owner of this popular shoe boutique, which opened in 1980 and is known for its stylish footwear.

Velvet Slipper Divine was conceived by Houstonian Vivian Wise to offer “destination shopping experiences” featuring one-of-a-kind designer luxury goods – often (but not always) presented in a custom-designed Airstream travel trailer named “Babette.” (Please visit www.velvetslipperdivine.com for more information.)

“I am thankful to Vivian and Velvet Slipper Divine for supporting me in developing my client base and being so gracious as to introduce me to the Aspen fashion and social scene,” commented Jonathan Blake. “Vivian and her Velvet Slipper Divine concept are great matches for me because they go to key markets that are important to my demographic and my growth plans. Aspen has the enviable reputation as a popular luxury destination for Houstonians and discriminating consumers from all over the world. Aspen shoppers expect quality construction, luxurious fabrics and captivating designs, and they tend to be open and accepting of new designers.”

Only 21 at the time, Jonathan Blake launched a line of women’s couture fashions in October 2012 in Houston and is gaining popularity throughout the United States and overseas. He introduced handbags in April 2014.
