United States : IBM to launch talent management and change consulting effort

August 5, 2014

To wrap around its human resources and workforce cloud services, IBM has planned to launch a talent management and change consulting effort.

Although human capital management and its various offshoots are a profitable market, it's also crowded as Workday, SAP, Oracle and Cornerstone are just a few major players.

Additionally, firms like Appirio are powerful cloud-based human capital management consultants and integration partners.

Revolving around its Kenexa software and services, IBM's move, repeats a familiar theme for Big Blue.

The blueprint is as follows : IBM builds or buys its way into a market like cloud, HR and security through tuck-in acquisitions; An IBM strength, Analytics, are layered into the stack; The firm then makes use of its consulting unit to bundle in change and process management expertise; In case it fits, IBM will also wrap in hardware like its private and public cloud connections for hybrid data centers.
