India : KOLKATA: SBI introduces the first-of-its-kind digital banking scheme partnering ACCENTURE

The state-owned banking giant State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced its digital banking scheme sbiINTOUCH - in Kolkata on Saturday.

The newly launched digital banking initiative of the bank is the pet project of the SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya.

India s largest bank, as part of its dedicated proposal for the Gen Y, plans to offer an innovative banking experience to the customers through these digital sites. Banking on the strategy of less bank and more partnership , the lender hopes to support the young Indians in realizing their ambitions, in turn heralding a new era of banking in the country.

The SBI digital stores will feature many exclusive and unmatched services and solutions to serve the new-generation customers of India. The opportunity for instant account opening with a tailored debit card is probably taking place in Asia for the first time. And the list goes on with many such unique offerings, including the launch of SBI s Smart ATM facilitating cash deposits and withdrawals using the same device, with remote concierge to call bank 24/7 and Remote Expert facility. The facility allows a high-definition video contact with the bank s expert squad to meet all requirements of the customers, such as life as well as general insurance, and demat account, securities and the like. The bank said, Along with this we are making it an integrated experience with a range of new age touch devices and technology to help fulfill dreams car, education and home.

The former captain of Indian football team Baichung Bhutia and Tollywood Actress Koel Mallick had helped the bank to unleash the innovative sbiINTOUCH digital site at City Center 2 mall in Rajarhat, Kolkata. The launch event was also joined by B Sriram, Managing Director & Group Executive (National Banking), S. K. Mishra, Deputy Managing Director, CS&NB and Sunil Srivastava, Deputy Managing Director.

SBI has also strategy to organize a persistent weekend connect programs to connect with the ambitions of Young India and help them realize their dreams.

The SBI Chairman Ms Bhattacharya stated, This is the start of a journey for us and we are delighted by the response we are already getting. SBI is committed towards offering best-in-class services to our increasingly tech-savvy customers and will continue to invest in digital stores to create a superior banking experience. This 7 branch pilot project serves as a medium to facilitate SBI to move towards its digital drive. This project forms a part of the bank s dedicated efforts to add new experiences constantly and reinforce its Digital Banking program further. The banking giant together with Accenture has spent only 14 weeks for planning the digital store scheme, and deployment of technology and devices and preparing the staff.
