Tokyo stocks edge down in morning amid lack of buying incentives

Tokyo stocks fell slightly Tuesday morning on selling for position adjustments amid a lack of fresh buying incentives.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 37.90 points, or 0.24 percent, from Monday to 15,436.60. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 3.27 points, or 0.26 percent, to 1,272.92.

Major decliners included metal products, machinery and consumer finance shares.
