Buysn John Williams, finance director at ULS TECHNOLOGY, which provides online platforms for the UK conveyancing and financial markets, has bought 48,291 shares at 41p each. It represents his first stake in the company.n Glyn Edwards, chief executive at pharmaceutical firm SUMMIT, has bought 30,000 shares in the business at 104.5p. He now holds a total of 233,333 shares.n Peter Gershon, chairman of food ingredients group TATE & LYLE, has bought 10,000 shares at 638p each. He now holds just over 92,000 shares in the company, which last month said it had missed its first-quarter target for operating profit due to severe US weather and foreign exchange movements. The firm, whose brands include zero-calorie sweeteners Splenda and Tasteva, said it expected its overall performance to be broadly in line with previous guidance before the impact of foreign exchange.n Peter Jones, the new chairman of car dealership group VERTU MOTORS, has bought his first stake in the company. He bought 300,000 shares at 57p each.Last month Vertu said its trading for the current year was likely to be ahead of current market expectations. Total revenues in the last four months had grown 34.8 per cent during the period, with like-for-like revenues up 16.4 per cent.Severaln Several directors at industrial rentals group ASHTEAD have sold shares granted under an incentive scheme. The board members included chief executive Geoff Drabble who sold 406,176 shares at 934p each. Last week analysts at Jefferies Group reiterated their buy rating on the stock in a research note.n Jolyon Head, a director at JARVIS SECURITIES, has sold 5,000 shares at 525p each. He now holds 4,666 shares.
