BRIEF: Ben Franklin Technology Partners invests $60,000 in two companies

Aug. 04--Two local companies, one working on new technology for roofing and waterproofing and the other digital storage, have secured a total of $60,000 in startup funding from Bethlehem-based Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

Bethlehem'sColymer Industries, working out of the Ben Franklin TechVentures, received $50,000 to put a sales and marketing plan in place to take a proprietary non-asphalt roofing and waterproofing material called Tarzanite to market.

Allentown'sSeKur Technology Inc. received $10,000 to complete a sales and marketing strategy to launch a new licensing, encryption and storage solution for digital media including documents, e-books, audio and video files.
