Ben Jaafar discusses governance, accountability with Maghreb deputies, magistrates

BARDO (TAP) - President of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Mustapha Ben Jaafar conferred, Friday, with deputies and court of auditors' magistrates from Tunisia , Morocco and Mauritania . The latter participated, on August 25- 29, in a meeting held in Tunis by the African Development Bank on the role of parliamentarians in promoting good governance in public finance and the accountability of funds. Ben Jaafar spoke of the Assembly's supervisory action, along with its legislative and constituent role, to ensure transparency and good governance and fight corruption and poor management of public finances, said a NCA Presidency press release. Maghreb deputies and magistrates hailed Tunisia 's achievements on the path of democratic transition, notably the promulgation of a consensual constitution and the organisation of elections.
