United States : INDIANA FINANCE AUTHORITY sanctions $500,000 loan to city of EVANSVILLE

August 28, 2014

A $500,000 loan has been sanctioned by the Indiana Finance Authority to the city of Evansville to help cleaning a site infected by decades of industrial operations.

The loan would be utilized by Evansville for cleanup work at the Swanson-Nunn site, a less than one-acre plot of land where a building housed laundry and dry-cleaning operations in the 1930s and later an electrical repair business that closed in the 1990s.

The building, which once housed the businesses was destroyed in March.

The state`s loan would be refunded by Evansville. That amount and any interest will return to the Indiana Finance Authority's brownfield fund.
