Aug. 29--Watch Free Press food writer Susan Selasky whip up one of her favorite farm-fresh recipes today at the state fair in Novi.
At 2 and 4 p.m., Selasky will teach fair-goers how to make Cabbage and Bok Choy Slaw on the cooking demonstration stage at the Free Press Feast Market. In addition to live cooking demos, the market features farm-fresh produce and Michigan-made foods. It's just one of many new attractions at the 2014 Fifth Third Bank Michigan State Fair at the Suburban Collection Showplace. The fair runs today through Monday.
If you miss Susan today, you'll get another opportunity to see her Sunday, when she'll take the stage at 1 and 3 p.m. to demonstrate her recipe for Pasta with Farm-Fresh Tomatoes and Anchovy Sauce.
And, on Saturday, don't miss Free Press chef columnist Benjamin Meyer, chef de cuisine at Iridescence at MotorCity Casino Hotel. Starting at 11 a.m., he'll share his secrets to creating flavorful, fresh vinaigrette.
