August 29, 2014

China becomes number one in investments, public and private sectors, First Vice Prime Minister Tairbek Sarpashev told reporters on August 29 during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the cement plant in Kemen district.

The biggest economic projects, either energy projects or construction, are carried out by China now, he added.

"These projects include construction of the Datka-Kemin power transmission line for $389.795 million, North-South alternative road for $450 million, construction of the given cement plant for $70 million. This speaks of intensive development of bilateral relations with China," Tairbek Sarpashev stated.

Two major facilities are under construction in Kemin district in a distance of 2-3 km from each other. The Datka-Kemin power transmission line is a symbol of the country's energy security, while the cement plant in Kemin district is support for construction sector, the First Vice Prime Minister concluded.
