BRIEF: Fiestas present a range of interesting events

Aug. 29--The ongoing Fiesta Melodrama and tonight's burning of Old Man Gloom are far from the only events connected with Santa Fe's annual Fiestas, which run through Sept. 7.

Coming up soonest are:

Mariachi Extravaganza de Santa Fe, Concerto de Mujeres, featuring Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, Mariachi Flores Mexicanas and Mariachi Buena Ventura. 7 p.m.-midnight at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St., $35.

Arts and crafts market on the Plaza. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today through Monday and Sept. 5-7.

Mariachi Matinee with local musical talent. 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 W. San Francisco St., $7. Purchase tickets at the Lensic; 988-1234 or www. ticketssantafe.org.

Historical Fiesta Lecture by Cordelia "Dedie" Thomas Snow. 6 p.m. Wednesday at the New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave., $5.
