Aug. 28--The Texas Aggie Band Show will kick off its 20th season on television on a new station -- local NBC affiliate KAGS-TV.

KAGS General Manager Roby Somerford and Corps of Cadets Commandant Brig. Gen. Joe Ramirez announced the three-year partnership during a press conference Tuesday.

The weekly half-hour show, which gives viewers an inside look at life as a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and includes footage of the band's halftime performance at football games, will make the move from KAMU to KAGS-TV on Sept. 7 at 11 p.m., following NBC's Sunday Night Football and the KAGS-TV Aggie Sports show. It will air on KCEN-TV in Waco, as well.

"KAGS-TV will also be working with the commandant to partner with the Corps of Cadets and the Aggie Band to propel their message forward by covering stories about the cadets that happen on the Quad and the community," Somerford said in a press release. "We also look forward to working with the commandant to promote the service-type projects that KAGS-TV and the Corps of Cadets can team up to accomplish for the community."

After the original Sunday broadcasts, the show will be available on the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association website and on the TexAgs website.

"For those of us who were once members of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, the Aggie Band Show has been a source of pride for us for 20 years, and we're all very, very excited about the fact that now it's going to be part of KAGS-TV and KCEN, and we're proud that our Aggie band is going to be featured every week along with members of the Corps of Cadets," Ramirez said during the press conference at the Sanders Corps of Cadets Center.

The show, hosted by Bruce Bockhorn, '74, and produced by RDM Audio, is underwritten by the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association and sponsored by BJ's Restaurant.
