Aug. 28--The First Niagara Pavilion stage becomes a laughing matter Saturday for the second annual Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival.
The six-hour laugh-a-palooza, sponsored by the Funny or Die comedy site, stars short-tempered standup ace Bill Burr, and fellow fearless New Englander Sarah Silverman, who ignited a national buzz on the Emmy Awards red carpet when she showed off her marijuana e-cigarette to E! hostess Giuliana Rancic.
Starting at 5 p.m., the festival also features comics Jim Jefferies (star of FXX's "Legit"), Hannibal Buress, Michael Che (the new correspondent on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show"), Brody Stevens, Chris D'Elia (from NBC's short-lived "Whitney"), Brent Morin and Chris Hardwick, host of Comedy Central's web-based improv comedy/panelist show "@midnight."
Performances will take place on two stages, while concertgoers also can check out the Cut Throat Freak Show, a roaming troupe of misfit performers.
Tickets are $27 for the lawn; $40.25 to $97.30 for the pavilion.

X marks its spot in the Strip District on Sunday.
One of the original and most critically-acclaimed L.A. punk bands, X totes its original lineup of Billy Zoom, John Doe, Exene Cervenka and DJ Bonebrake to Altar Bar for a 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 the day of the show.
Not in The Face is the opening act, promising what the Houston Chronicle said is "a sound best described as Queens of the Stone Age mated with the Temptations." The Austin band's EP of turbo-charged soul-rock was produced by Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper/Kiss).
