Ethicon Endo-Surgery Assigned Patent for Tissue Managing Medical Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 28 -- Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Cincinnati, has been assigned a patent (8,795,166) developed by six co-inventors for a medical device "for managing tissue in an organ, such as the stomach, for retracting or positioning tissue and related organs to allow certain regions of the stomach to be acquired for a gastroplasty procedure." The co-inventors are Andrew H. Hancock, Fremont, California, Gary Weller, Los Gatos, California, Christopher Julian, Los Gatos, California, Craig Gerbi, Mountain View, California, Alex T. Roth, Redwood City, California, and James Gannoe, West Milford, New Jersey.
