BRIEF: Today's Music Picks: David Gray visits Paramount Theatre in Oakland

Aug. 28--David Gray released his debut in 1993, but it wasn't until after he put out his fourth album -- 1998's "White Ladder" -- that listeners really caught on. The album was a blockbuster success, eventually selling some 9 million copies worldwide and transforming its author into a huge star. Gray is still going strong in 2014, touring in support of his 10th studio album, "Mutineers." Gray performs Thursday at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland. Show time is 8 p.m. and tickets are $39.50-$89.50,

**Panic! At The Disco got off to a quick start. Its 2005 debut, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out," went platinum and produced the smash single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." The Las Vegas pop-rock act remains quite popular -- with its latest album, 2013's "Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!," climbing as high as No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Panic! At The Disco performs Thursday at the Event Center at San Jose State University. Walk The Moon and Youngblood Hawke are also on the bill. Show time is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $35,
