Turkish Airlines posts $190 million Q2 profit

Turkish Airlines' first half 2014 consolidated financial statements were reported to Borsa Istanbul.

Compared to the same period of 2013, sales revenue increased by 15 per cent in reaching $5.2 billion. Turkish Airlines recorded $234 million operating profit and $190 million net profit in the second quarter of 2014, completing the first half year with $152 million operating profit and $88 million net profit.

During the first half of 2014, 26 million passengers were carried implying a 17 per cent increase in passenger traffic. Available seat kilometres and revenue passenger kilometres increased by 19 per cent, resulting in a stable load factor of 79 per cent.
