INTEX TECH PLANS TO INVEST Rs500 CRORE IN SMARTPHONE UNIT

Intex Technologies, a manufacturer of mobile handsets and consumer durables, plans to set up a smartphone manufacturing plant in India with an investment of Rs500 crore. The company is in talks with three State Governments - Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand - to finalise the location for the plant. The proposed plant will be initially used for manufacturing mobile phones, and will be used later to manufacture other electronic goods.
