August 25, 2014

Iran is in talks with Turkmenistan for signing of agreements to export engineering services and commodities to the Central Asian state, IRNA reported referring to the Petroleum Ministry's Advisor, Mohammad-Taqi Amanpour.

The Advisor added that Turkmenistan has welcomed cooperation with Iranian companies which recently attended an exhibition there.

"During the two-day exhibition, good talks were held with Iranian companies for the purchase of goods," he said.

140 Iranian companies featured their products and services at the event.

Iran is Turkmenistan's second largest trade partner after Russia.

The country exports machinery, construction materials, buses, food, agricultural and petrochemical products, electrical products and home appliances to Turkmenistan, and imports natural gas, electricity, textiles and agricultural products from its northern neighbor.
