Aug. 25--Saturday night's Music in the Outfield concert didn't only draw music lovers to Austin'sMarcusen Park. It also attracted dancers, hoola-hoopers and a woman with a TV on her head.

Cloud Cult and Pert Near Sandstone ended the first day of the ArtWorks Festival with a performance at the ball diamond, which was the second year-in-a row for Cloud Cult.

A large crowd gathered to hear the blue-grass and indie-pop-rock bands share their talent with Austin.

"A lot of people are really excited to see Cloud Cult again, because it was a bit of a surprise for most Austinites, and we've gotten feedback that people are happy that they're coming back," said Jennie Knoeble, executive director of the Austin Area Commission for the Arts. "I think people will be surprised by Pert Near [Sandstone], I think we'll get a similar reaction to what we got from Cloud Cult last year."

Although the two bands boasted different genres, Knoebel said the pairing worked well.

"We decided that that worked well because it brought in a couple different crowds," Knoebel said.

Stan and Joanne Rasmussen were excited to attend the concert Saturday night. After they missed it last year, the couple decided they had to make this year's concert.

"We missed it last year and everybody said we should go," Stan said. "Everybody was talking about it."

Although they didn't know what to expect, they were glad to make it to the concert.

"We've never heard either one of the bands, but it's a nice night," Stan said.

The couple attended the ArtWorks Festival earlier Saturday.

"We love it," Joanne said. "Everyone should take part in the ArtWorks Festival."

"It's a lot of talent in Austin," Stan added.
