Aug. 25--MIDDLETOWN -- An exhibition featuring twelve large-scale landscape and vista paintings by artist and professor Tula Telfair will be on display at Wesleyan University this fall.
The opening reception for "A World of Dreams: New Landscape Paintings by Tula Telfair" will be Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display at the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery, 283 Washington Terrace, from Sept. 16 until Friday, Dec. 5.
Telfair will speak about her work on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. at CFA Hall, 287 Washington Terrace, and there will be a panel discussion about the exhibition on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m. in the Zilkha Gallery.
In 2015, the exhibition will be on display with nine additional paintings at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum in Baton Rouge, La., the Huntington Museum of Art in West Virginia and at the Forum Gallery in New York City, the Wesleyan Center for the Arts said in a news release.
The subjects of the twelve large oil paintings are based on Telfair's time living on four continents and recent trips. Telfair is a professor of art at Wesleyan and her work appears in public collections around the world.
The Zilkha Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information go to http://www.wesleyan.edu/cfa/.
