The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has decided to allocate US$100 million in support to five southern central provinces in Vietnam.

The funding is aiming at implementing a project on transport infrastructure. The provinces are Binh Phuoc, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum.

Anto, head of a working delegation from the Ministry of Planning and Investment and ADB, stated that the project is set to commence in early 2016.

The goal of the project is to deliver efficient road transport systems for local residents, and boost economic and tourism development in ethnic minority areas and poor communities in the five provinces.

In addition, ADB has even committed to provide US$900,000 to localities next year to prepare a detailed plan for the project.
