Stage is set for debut family show

August 20, 2014

CROWDS are expected to flock to the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) tonight for the debut performance of a family stage show based on the popular Emirati television series Freej.

The show, Freej: Abood's Dream, is produced in the UAE and puts a local cultural twist on the traditional family theatre experience.

Featuring characters from the animated series, the plot of the show follows Abood's amusing antics and the lessons he learns as he looks after his grandmother's pet canary, which lives in a fish bowl.

It is being held as part of the Bahrain Summer Festival, which concludes on Tuesday with the Spanish flamenco and rumba-infused beats of Chico and the Gypsies from 8pm at the BIECC.

Tickets are on sale at Virgin Megastore in Bahrain City Centre or online from www.bahrainsummer.bh.
