Aug. 20--ALBANY -- Former American Idol winner and platinum recording artist Phillip Phillip is returning to his hometown this weekend to lend his support to a local cause as headliner of the Music=Change benefit concert.

In between each artist's set, event organizers will also be showing short films documenting the work of Mission:Change in hopes of encouraging those in attendance to get involved.

"This night will serve as our only fundraiser for the year and give us the opportunity to share who we are and how people can join us in making our community a better place," said Mission:Change Executive Director LaDonna Urick. "It's also a chance to listen to some great bands from the area as well as welcome back my brother, Phillip Phillips, for his first homecoming gig since winning American Idol in 2012."
