Dollar Mixed Ahead Of US Weekly Jobless Claims

BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - The US weekly jobless claims for the week ended August 16 are due at 8:30 am ET Thursday. The claims are seen falling to 303,000, after registering a 311,000 increase a week earlier.

Ahead of the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against the other major currencies. While the greenback held steady against the yen and the pound, it recovered from early lows against the franc and the euro.

The greenback was worth 1.3358 against the euro, 1.6585 against the pound, 103.83 against the yen and 0.9133 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
