BRIEF: Two-day Ferndale Street Festival starts Friday

Aug. 21--The free Ferndale Street Festival begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in downtown Ferndale, with 7 Second Window hitting the stage at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, a pirate-theme kids' street will open at 10 a.m. for a day of live entertainment, a free bouncy castle, a treasure hunt and pirate eye patches.

There's also a Festival of Fenders Car Show, more than 100 vendors, and music by the Penny Stinkers and Pickle Toss during the day.

The Vonvettas will provide blues-rock music for the evening street dance at 8 p.m. Saturday. There is also a beer-and-wine tent.
