Advanta IRA Offers Three Hours of Continuing Education to Realtors: Real Estate Investments in an IRA

August 21, 2014

Tampa, Florid (PRWEB) August 21, 2014

This class is hosted by the Pinellas County Realtor Organization and offered to its members and the general public, as well. Scott Maurer of Advanta IRA Services leads the class in providing knowledge about self-directed IRAs and why it's important for realtors to understand how these accounts work relevant to real estate investments. Many clients and potential clients could be investors and often rely on realtors to locate viable property for investment purposes.

Individuals who choose to self-direct their retirement accounts gain greater control over their own investment choices by making decisions based on what they know and understand. Realtors bring more to the table when they, too, are aware of how these accounts work--and this knowledge can attract an entirely different client demographic outside those looking to purchase the standard family home.

As more people seek diversity in their portfolios, real estate is a top choice and considered by many a safe, steady option compared to the inconsistency of stocks on the market. A real estate IRA can help provide diversity in portfolios and also has the potential to earn retirement funds--on a tax-free or tax-deferred basis--at a faster pace than more traditional investment methods. "Realtors that have a firm grasp on how these assets work in an IRA can use this knowledge to help guide clients through the process and help them meet their goals," says Jack Callahan, managing partner of Advanta IRA Services.

Attendees of this class learn:

*How to mine existing contacts for new purchases

*How knowledge of self-directed IRAs attracts new clients

*To use their expertise for their own retirement account

*Types of accounts that can be self-directed

*Alternative investments permissible in a self-directed IRA

*How to increase sales, commissions, and more!

"Using a self-directed IRA, people can invest in single and multi-family homes, foreclosures, commercial property, raw land, private mortgages and many other alternative investments in the real estate realm," says Callahan. There are a myriad of additional alternative assets permissible in self-directed accounts, as well.

This class is offered free of charge to Pinellas County Realtor Organization members but may require a minimal cost for non-member attendees.
