BRIEF: Orozco offering class on historic Lincoln at ENMU-Ruidoso

Aug. 19--ENMU-Ruidoso is offering a class on Lincoln Historic Site for the first time this fall semester. Dr. Cynthia E. Orozco, professor and chair, will offer the course on Thursdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. beginning Aug. 21.

The class includes field trips to Lincoln to see the Lincoln Anderson-Freeman museum, the Lincoln County Courthouse, the Convento, and other key sites. Topics include Hispanos in La Placitas, the Lincoln County War, community development, historic preservation, and key figures of Lincoln. Key figures will include civic leaders, politicians, historians, and artists. There will also be guest speakers and videos.

The class can be audited (no credit/no homework) by senior citizens who are New Mexican residents for $65. Degree-seeking students may also enroll.
