United States : BALFOUR BEATTY bags $30 MILLION contract for Waterfront Park project

Balfour Beatty declared that it has been awarded a US$30 million (17.7m) contract from PN Hoffman & Associates for offering construction management at risk services for a new residential building for 625 Water Street at the Waterfront Park project in Washington, DC.

SK&I Architectural Design Group have designed the five-storey residential building, which comprises 108 units. It will also feature amenities such as an entrance lobby, landscaped courtyard, club room, private rooftop and courtyard. The building is set above a one-storey garage substructure.

David Laib, senior vice president of Balfour Beatty Construction said, We feel privileged to build a world-class building for such a prestigious client.

The building is part of the new US$1.5bn Southwest Waterfront mixed-use development. The new Waterfront will include 560 residential units and 600 hotel rooms as well as offices, retail, parking and leisure facilities.

Starting this month, the construction will be finished in January 2016.
