As we make our way to this year’s IFA, Sony has just unveiled the Xperia M2 Aqua, a new mid-range waterproof smartphone. Definitely an interesting release to say the least, as this device marks the company’s first attempt at bringing waterproof technology to a mid-range price point. And in case you are wondering, the specifications are fairly solid as it is a carton copy of Xperia M2 with some extra sealing, in case you want to take it for a dip.

To recap, the Xperia M2 Aqua features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor 1.2 GHz CPU, 4G LTE capabilities, a bright and vibrant 4.8-inch Quad HD display, 2300 mAh battery and 8MP rear camera with multiple technologies (Exmor RS, HDR imaging and more). In addition, this smartphone will allow its owners to capture some unique shots both in and out of water. The Aqua will be available in both black and white variants, and will be released across the globe. No pricing details as of yet.
