Aug. 19--West View-based recruiting software company The Resumator announced it has raised a $15 million Series B financing lead by Boston-based firm Volition Capital.

The financing is supported by existing investors Tuscon, Ariz.,-based Rincon Venture Partners and South Side-based Birchmere Ventures as well as new investors New York-based Blue Cloud Ventures and Riverfront Ventures, an investment fund run by South Side-based Innovation Works. The round brings the total amount of outside funding raised by The Resumator to $18 million.

The company said the funds will go toward leveraging data points and hiring a team of scientists to "rethink the recruiting lifestyle."

"It is estimated that over 60 percent of small businesses and small enterprises rely on email or spreadsheets, which not only drive up recruiting costs by more than 20 percent but reduce the company's ability to attract performers at a critical stage of growth where the right talent can make all the difference," said founder and CEO Don Charlton. "Recruiting is no longer about fighting the 'workflow war' or finding inventive ways to streamline hiring -- it's about helping teams quickly identify and hire great talent consistently and predictably."
