Pakistani singer set for charity concert

A CONCERT by well-known Pakistani singer Amanat Ali will be held in Bahrain next month.

The event, called 'The Man with the Golden Voice', is expected to draw a sell-out crowd on September 5 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

It is being organised in support of charity with part of the proceeds going towards the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioural and Communicational Difficulties.

Mr Ali, who will be joined by his seven-member band, will showcase a versatile rendition of popular Bollywood, classical and pop tracks in his two-hour performance.

The highly acclaimed artist has been labelled a "great discovery" by renowned Indian choreographer Farah Khan.

In 2008, he completed a tour of the US with the Bachchan family after winning the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Middle East Challenge the year before.

He released his first album in 2009, called Kohram and Amanat Ali, and was also the judge of Boomer Voice of Nation, Pakistan in 2011.

The performance will start at 7pm and doors will open at 6pm.

Tickets are priced at BD5, BD10 and BD25 per person and are available at Yateem Centre and Mumbai Spices restaurant at Bahrain Mall.
