Berkshire Bank Expands Small Business Banking Services in the Capital District NY

Release date- 18082014 - Complementing its growing presence in the Capital District of New York, Berkshire Bank, America's Most Exciting Bank, has recruited an experienced small business banking team.

Joining Berkshire is: Karen Zalewski-Wildzunas, Vice President, Business Banking Team Leader; Tracey Costanza, Vice President, Business Banking Officer; Eric Navarra, Vice President, Business Banking Officer; Gregory Novitsky, Vice President, Business Banking Officer; and Michael Stefanik, Vice President, Business Banking Officer. The new team's market footprint in New York includes the following counties: Albany; Schenectady; Rensselaer; Saratoga; Columbia; Greene; Fulton; and Montgomery.

The new Small Business Banking team, previously with First Niagara Financial Group, will be based out of Berkshire's regional headquarters at 41 State Street, Albany, New York. The team will be led by Karen Zalewski-Wildzunas, who has over 30 years of experience, most recently as the regional small business team leader at First Niagara Bank. Zalewski-Wildzunas is a previous recipient of the prestigious Women of Excellence award from the Albany Colonie Regional Chamber and Executive of the Year award from the Chamber of Schenectady County.

The team will be responsible for managing and developing Berkshire's small business accounts and lending portfolio in the Capital District New York region, working closely with the New York Business Development Corporation (NYBDC) and the Small Business Administration (SBA). The team brings with it a great deal of expertise in a wide range of small business lending, lending programs for women business owners, business development, financial analysis, commercial lending and real estate lending to complement the Bank's commercial, home lending, insurance and wealth management teams.
