Murphy said some friends encouraged her to have pottery classes, saying they would bring their friends to help her get started. "It caught on after that."
What do you like best about your job?: "Well, part of it is the freedom to have a flexible schedule and to do my own art."
What is your specialty?: "Mostly, I do functional pieces, ... but I really like doing sculpture and totems. ... I use my background in architecture to make ... sinks, tiles and backsplashes."
She teaches mostly adults who usually have no background in making pottery. They find her through other students or from the website.
What are your future plans?: "Hopefully, to expand and have more teaching space and more students. ... I hope to expand to sell online or through
