Botanical Garden in Tashkent set to be turned into unique natural plant complex

The Government of Uzbekistan has approved on August 1 the concept of development of the Botanical Garden of the Sciences Academy'sInstitute of Flora and Fauna Genepool for 2014-2017 and the action plan for its implementation.

The document determined to turn the Botanical Garden into a unique natural plant complex of national importance and provide its access to the world level.

The commission on the development of the Botanical Garden was created and approved by the document as well.

It is planned to rehabilitate the entrance area and basic facilities of the garden. Besides, construction of a visit center and green theater for cultural activities of scientific and educational sphere is going to be implemented, as well as the expansion of endangered and endemic species of Uzbekistan's flora included to the Red Book.

In addition, an environmental children's art studio Nikhol (Sprout) will be established within the framework of the concept.

The Botanical Garden will have its own website. Thus, the detailed information about it will be available via popular electronic searching systems.

Creation of e-cards is also provided. It will be a guide with the necessary overview of flora of the Botanical Garden, including the use of electronic information displays throughout its territory.
