August 14, 2014

Gloucester Daily Times, Mass.

Aug. 14--Nearly 100 works of art will be up for sale at Saturday evening's annual auction of the North Shore Arts Association.

This year's gala, called "A Taste of Art Auction," will, as always, be conducted in a festive atmosphere at the NSAA galleries on Pirates Lane in East Gloucester. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and attendees will have the chance to view and place bids on 94 juried artworks, all donated by the artist members, with proceeds going to the association.

The gala celebration will offer a wine raffle, a spirits tasting, and tapas table. The Board of Trustees has donated 50 vintage bottles of wine to be raffled off to the winner as a complete Instant Wine Cellar.

The tapas table will be offering items by local restaurants, including Duckworth's, '525' Restaurant, Latitude 43, Lobsta Land, The Studio and The Rudder. Local art collector John Archer will be the auctioneer.

Tickets are $60 and can be purchased in advance by calling the North Shore Arts Association, or at the door. Tickets may also be purchased online at the association web site, nsarts.org.

The galleries of the North Shore Arts Association, now in its 92nd year, are open, free to the public, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

For more information, visit www.nsarts.org, or call 978-283-1857. The venue is at 11 Pirates Lane, Gloucester.
