August 14, 2014

10.5 billion yen (US$102 million) has been subscribed by Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in loans to his Burmese counterpart, Wunna Maung Lwin to develop the country s communications infrastructure.

The new low-interest loan would be targeted at formulating a communications network associating three major cities, including Rangoon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw that would cope with the country s growing need for mobile phones and Internet connectivity.
