Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee holds meeting in Tashkent

A regular meeting of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee has been held in the Tashkent'sInternational Business Center on August 12.

The event was attended by heads of ministries and departments, companies and concerns of Uzbekistan and China, responsible for external economic relations, banking and financing, oil and gas sector, energy and geology, reports Pravda Vostoka.

Chinese businessmen noted that economic stability in Uzbekistan is recognized internationally, and expressed their readiness to participate in major projects which are being implemented there.

The current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in economy, oil and gas, energy industries, as well as the issues of further development and strengthening of bilateral relations and implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects have been discussed during the meeting.

The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China is continuously increasing. The rate made about $2.2 billion during the period of January-May 2014.

There are 482 joint enterprises created by the Chinese contribution, and more than 70 companies of China are represented in Uzbekistan.
