Researchers from Food Research Center Provide Details of New Studies and Findings in the Area of Bioscience and Bioengineering (Sequence analysis and heterologous expression of the wool cuticle-degrading enzyme encoding genes in Fusarium ...)

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Biotech Week -- Data detailed on Bioengineering have been presented. According to news reporting from Nagoya, Japan, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "Two protease-like proteins, KrtA and KrtC, were identified in Fusarium oxysporum 26-1."

The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Food Research Center, "Genes coding these proteins, krtA and krtC, were isolated and characterized. Recombinant KrtA (rKrtA) and KrtC (rKrtC) were successfully expressed in Aspergillus oryzae and secreted."

According to the news reporters, the research concluded: "The combination of rKrtA and rKrtC completely removed the cuticle of wool fibers."
