MDY, XTL: Big ETF Outflows

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P MIDCAP 400 ETF (MDY), where 5,049,622 units were destroyed, or a 7.8% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of MDY, in morning trading today Equinix (EQIX) is up about 0.6%, and United Rentals (URI) is higher by about 1.1%.

And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the SPDR S&P Telecom ETF (XTL), which lost 100,000 of its units, representing a 20.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of XTL, in morning trading today 8x8 (EGHT) is off about 0.1%, and Windstream Holdings (WIN) is relatively unchanged.
