BRIEF: Police team to play Blue Caps

Aug. 13--MENOMONIE -- The Menomonie Blue Caps vintage baseball team will face a combined team of Menomonie Police Department and Dunn County sheriff's office employees in a fundraiser game at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wakanda Park.

Gates open at 12:30 p.m. for pregame activities that include free children's games. All proceeds will benefit the Dunn County Historical Society.

A radar gun challenge will be available for adults and kids to see how fast they can throw a baseball. Participants throw three balls for $1.

A silent auction and raffle will be part of the event. The grand prize package includes two Milwaukee Brewers club level tickets, two tickets to the Harley-Davidson Museum and an overnight stay at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel in Brookfield.

Admission to the event is $4 in advance or $6 at the gate. Admission for children ages 6-18 is $4; children younger than 5 may attend for free. For more information and a complete roster for both teams, visit or call 715-232-8685.
